Helping to Develop Successful Policy Outcomes in the Solomon Islands

The Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission (SILRC) has successfully conducted a two day Legal Policy Development Course training for its officers and other officers of the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs (8 – 9 June 2015). The Legal Policy Development Course was developed by the Australian Attorney General’s Department (AGD) in 2013, and since then AGD has delivered the Course to more than 150 public officials in the Pacific.

Press release to correct the errors appeared in your Newspaper on Wednesday 1st April 2015, Issue 1945

The Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission (Commission) wishes to make this press release in response to incorrect information published in your Newspaper (Island Sun) on Wednesday 1st April 2015, Issue 1945. The errors were numerous under the different article headings on and related to the Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission launching of the Homicide Offences Consultation Paper.

Gov’t to receive law reform report on Mental Impairment, Criminal Responsibility and Fitness to Plead

The Solomon Islands Law Reform Commission (LRC) will hand over its report for reform of the law and procedure contained in the Criminal Procedure Code and Penal Code that apply to people with mental health problems who committed crimes and come into contact with the criminal justice system.
